ERSEA /Family Services Specialist

Northwest Tennessee Economic Development Council Head Start/Early Head Start Program is now accepting applications for the position of ERSEA/Family Services Specialist for the McKenzie Central Office located at 938C Walnut Avenue  West, McKenzie, TN.

Essential Job Duties: Verify applications for enrollment and support family advocates with making needed corrections. Ensure that all application corrections are made in a timely manner. Ensure that full enrollment is met and maintained throughout the year, ensuring children who leave the program are replaced within 30 days. Accept, Enroll, Terminate, Complete and Transfer children in ChildPlus.net. Assist in Recruitment efforts. Update income guidelines yearly when new Federal Poverty Guidelines are made available. Assist in planning of the annual Selection Criteria Meeting to ensure the Selection Criteria is updated annually. Assist in providing instruction and technical assistance for Family Advocates on the following but not limited to: taking applications, recruitment, attendance, enrollment, performance standards, procedures, staff orientation and using ChildPlus.net.
Train Teachers and Coordinators on use of ChildPlus attendance app. Check Head Start and Early Head Start folders for required application documentation during monitoring visits. Collect data in all areas of ERSEA for self-assessment.
Responsible for ERSEA setup and security in ChildPlus. Meet regularly with ERSEA/Family Services Manager and Family Services Specialist to plan together effectively. Participate in on-going training sessions and meetings in order to keep abreast of current OHS program policies. Preserve the confidentiality and integrity of all program information.
Maintain ERSEA filing system. Monitor attendance to ensure it is being entered daily, correctly and notes are entered and that all staff are striving to meet the 85% attendance goal. Submit required enrollment data to ACF through HSES.
Review and assist with updating ERSEA Policies and Procedures to ensure that they are accurate. Demonstrate an understanding of the Performance Standards and the Head Start Act.

Qualifications: BS/BA from an accredited university in Bachelor of Social Work, Social Science, Sociology, Psychology, or related field. At least 18 Early Childhood hours preferred. CPR/First Aide Certified. Experience in computer, data management and organizational skills. Willingness to obtain any credentials, endorsements or licensures in Family Services, Health, Mental Health and ERSEA.  Willingness to obtain train the trainer certification as an ACEs trainer. Current Tennessee Driver’s License and vehicle with liability insurance. Ensure physical examination and TB screening/test every three years.


$21.23 per hour based on Education
